Best AI search visibility tools in 2026: US pricing compared
Nine AI search visibility tools compared on what US buyers need to know: which engines they read, how often, how many prompts you get and what the entry plan costs.

An AI search visibility tool answers one question: when buyers ask AI engines about your category, are you in the answer? The products that do this vary a lot more than their homepages suggest, in which engines they read, how often, how many prompts you get and what that costs in dollars.
This comparison puts nine of them side by side on exactly those points. One disclosure first: alwayscited is ours, and it is ranked first. Every other entry is limited to what the vendor's own website said when we read it on 31 October 2026, so you can check every line.
How we compared them
We read each vendor's homepage and pricing page on 31 October 2026, in US dollars, and recorded:
- Engines included on the entry plan
- Check frequency where the vendor states it
- Prompts included on the entry plan
- US price and billing basis
- Anything beyond tracking, such as recommendations or content tools
Where a vendor's page did not say something, we say so rather than guess. If you want to see what this kind of tool returns before comparing plans, our free LLM visibility checker runs one reading for free.

How to choose
- Start with engines. Make sure the plan you will pay for covers the engines your buyers use. Several tools put Gemini, AI Mode or Claude behind add ons or higher tiers.
- Compare on prompts, not plan names. Entry plans range from 15 to 150 prompts. Five prompts per topic is a sensible minimum, so count your topics first.
- Check frequency. Daily readings show you what changed and when. Where a vendor does not state frequency, ask.
- Look for stored answers and sources. A score without the answer text and the cited pages is hard to act on.
- Decide who closes the gap. Every tool here measures. Most add recommendations. Getting onto the pages the engines cite is still work someone has to do, and that is what our placement tiers are for.
If you are new to this, our guide to generative engine optimization explains what these tools measure and why. For daily position tracking specifically, we compare AI rank trackers separately, and for tools that change your pages rather than measure them, see our GEO tools roundup. Our guide to LLM visibility covers how to read the results.
Questions
- What does an AI search visibility tool do?
- It runs a set of prompts through AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews on a schedule, and records whether your brand is named, which competitors are named and which pages are cited.
- How much does an AI visibility tool cost in the US?
- On the vendors' own pricing pages on 31 October 2026, entry plans ranged from $29 a month (Otterly.AI Lite, 15 prompts) to $250 a month (Scrunch Core, 125 prompts), with some enterprise products priced only on request.
- Which engines should an AI visibility tool cover?
- At least the ones your buyers use. A sensible starting set is Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Check which engines are included on the plan you will pay for, because several tools charge extra for some engines.
- Can Google's own data replace an AI visibility tool?
- Partly. Search Console reports impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode for your own site. It does not show competitors, other engines, or which pages were cited when you were not, and Google says no third party tool has access to its internal systems, so tools observe the answers instead.
